{Our Home} Guest Bathroom Dilemma

I am getting ready to host some very important business people for my husband tomorrow night and am spiffing up the place QUICK! If you follow me on Instagram then you have either already seen this and my cry for some help and given me so very good ideas.

We have a great downstairs bath but since we moved in it has just not been finished. Mostly because I am the kind of designer that takes my time. I am not a quick- I see the vision completely- kinda gal. I work in a more evolutionary mode! So this is my current dilemma today that I will be solving and back next week with a full pics of the FINISHED bathroom! Happy weekend friends!

{Inspiration} Home-Styling to Die For!

It has been party, party, party over here and as I get ready to move out of my home this next week, I am thinking more and more about inspiring interiors. I have major anxiety about unpacking as I am such a “everything has to be in it’s place” kind of person! So last night right before I shut off the computer I got my daily dose delivered to my email from Home-Styling. I just love everything Ana does and literally everything she touches turns to gold and is no more apparent than her latest project for her TV show. Oh how I how I wish I was back in Portugal and able to watch her! So enjoy your dose of HS and drown with me in this fabulousness of home inspiration!

To see more from this room (you seriously have to see the before pictures!) please visit Ana Antunes‘ site and let her know we sent you! Enjoy!!

Caitlin Wilson Textiles Are Here!

Sorry guys, I may be the last person on the planet to let you know but just in case you didn’t CWD has launched their textile line and it is nothing short of fabulous.

I have been dying waiting to see the full line and a week ago I was happily fulfilled. I can not help but look at Caitlin’s line and see fabulous patterns that are sophisticated and just make me feel happy.

Things have been a little nuts over here lately and I am sad to shut a portion of my business down at the busiest time of year but due to some unforeseen family issues it is the best thing to do. So taken in all this fabulous eye candy and pop over and take a look at her SHOP. It will not disappoint!

Hi, I’m Susi, a writer for Design Shuffle, a wonderful social media site and online community for interior designers, other design professionals, home owners and design lovers. Design Shuffle is a great place to find inspiration for your next project and show off your designs. For finding inspiration, I love to visit blogs like A Blissful Nest and see what bloggers like Rebekah are up to. Rebekah asked me to guest blog about decorating with accessories and I am happy to be here. There is an art to adding accessories to interior designs, so here are some of my favorite tips on using accessories to give your room a polished, well designed look. Enjoy!

Interior Accessories

Accessories can turn bookshelves into cool vignettes. Natural treasures, boxes, even big beaded necklaces can be used to decorate and style shelves or tables.

Another examples of stylish bookshelves. Books can be accessories too. Rethink the way you stack and display them. Mix horizontal and vertical lines for more interest.

Interior Accessories

Mixing accessories on a table or shelf makes for a more interesting vignette. Break up pairs; create groups of odd numbers for a more dynamic energy.

Interior Accessories

Accessories are a great way to add color and texture to an interior design. They don’t always have to be functional. Their job is to add interest to a space.

Interior Accessories

Glass accessories can add both color and shiny sparkle to a room. Coastal rooms look great with old glass bottles and glass fisherman’s floats.

Interior Accessories

Mantels are just calling out to be decorated with stylish accessories. Display a mix of objects or a favorite collection.

Interior Accessories

Plants and flowers can be beautiful accessories and creative decorating ideas. In the kitchen and dining room you can use food or drinks as accessories too.

Interior Accessories

A great tip when decorating with accessories is to chose a color palette for the group or vignette. Odd numbers make for more interesting groups. Bookshelves don’t have to be just for books. Look for places in your room that could benefit from decorating with some stylish accessories. Images ( 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 / 7 / 8 )
