{DIY} Witch Pumpkin Topiaries

Yesterday I shared over at Project Nursery a little tradition we started in our house last year. I know you have all heard of Elf on the Shelf, well this is my Halloween version of that same concept. Lauren and I make these little witchy pumpkins and she lands in a new room each day. SO who is on board with starting the Flying Witch trend??

Project Nursery/Big City Moms {Event Recap} Owl Baby Shower Table

Wow it has already been a few weeks now since the Biggest Baby Shower event put on by the fabulous ladies of Big City Moms. Time sure flies!

I have some fabulous event photos to share with you and to hopefully inspire you for the next baby shower you hold.

As I told you before, I came up with a “Look Who’s Coming” theme featuring these 2 gorgeous faux bois owls.We selected a color pallet of turquoise with shots of hot pink and I ended up throwing in a soft tan color. I enlisted the help of some of the most amazing ladies in the industry and I swear they truly made me look good!

Our sweets table display.

The crazy fabulous furniture from Petitnest.

The “hit of the party” was this little guy.

He as well as the coordinating circle band around the cake and cupcake toppers were made by the amazingly talented Brittany of Edible Details. I am telling you if you have not worked with her yet – you HAVE TOO! She is a dream. She gets my vision every time and then blows me away when her package arrives. Our little owl weighed a ton (I had asked her to make him a little bigger than normal since I really wanted him to stand out). I had originally had the plan of sticking the manzanita branch (a part of it!) on top of the cake and him sitting in front. Well the branch was pretty hard to snap a part and it was really too lovely to destroy like that. SO Melisa (Project Nursery) and I kicked around many ideas. And this is what we decided on. Sitting a moss ball behind him and creating a organic visual display with him. I LOVE how it turned out and just proves that sometimes not having a plan forces you to get creative and push your creative juices.

I found these slab slices on Savon-Cratfs.com and fell in love with them. Something different to use rather than platters. Same for these boxes that had these fabulous owl marshmallow pops in them. Have you ever seen marshmallow pops with so much detail??! Alejandra of The Marshmallow Studio even teaches classes to share her brilliance. This girl creates shear art, I swear!

I was introduced to Maria of The Gourmet Cake Pop by Tonya of Soiree Event Design. Can I tell you I can not believe she is so close and I have never worked with her before. Her cake pops are divine and were being gobbled up by not only all the expectant moms but us too! They were SO good.

Of course I had to have lots of candy! Salt water taffy, sixlets, rock candy and pearlized gumballs were displayed in milk glass and apothecary jars.

The fabulous faux bois owls that were the inspiration for this table:

Also the yummy cookies by Lisa of The Cookie Jar. These were displayed next to Petitnest’s glider so mommies could gobble them down (and that they did!) while rocking away.

My brand new lucite trays made a debut too! Sweet Tiffani Thiessen even modeled one for me.

I created a exclusive design to go right along with the owl collection. If you were the host of this shower then you could use the tray for the shower and gift the the expectant mom as a keep sake.

I was also able to create a few goodies for the ladies of BCM.

I had so much fun hanging with the ladies of Project Nursery and Petitnest.

As you can see Nicole was there too! I dont think I go anywhere without her! Well it’s simply because she is the best- photographer and friend!

I even had the opportunity to talk for a quick minute with Soleil Moon Frye.

The party printables for his collection will be available for purchase but you will have to wait and see where!
