DIY Table Ribbons!!

Yesterday got away from me!! So sorry for the no post. Okay I have a simple DIY on how to do the ribbons as seen here for Lauren’s Butterfly Party. It is actually really easy and I bet some of you may have a more simple way to do this.

As you read from my post on Tuesday, the yellow and white stripe fabric is from Ikea. Okay let me take a moment to tell you that this is one of the best places to shop for fabrics!! They are at a fantastic price, modern, simple ( you do not want to use busy fabrics for your tables or your candies will never show up), AND they discontinue things monthly and have a bin they throw them in and are marked WAY low. So with that said- everyone is going to go to Ikea and buy fabric.

I swear this is a DIY tutorial!! Okay so buy the fabric and cut it extra long in front. I cut mine so it was an extra 18″ after it touched the floor.

Come in from each side about 16-22″ (depends on how big you want your swag) and measure from the bottom and mark every 12″. Make 5 marks at 12″ intervals. Then make a slit with the scissors horizontally.

Take your ribbon and thread it through- inside then outside. Until it is weaved through.

Gather the 2 ends together and tighten. Tie those 2 ends into a bow. You may need to secure the bow a little more so it is “tighter”. If this is the case, what I used is bobby pins on the underneath side and I just safety pinned the bow to the fabric which also made the bow look higher.

So like I said, their may be an easier way to do this but this is what Ashley and I figured out. Comes from designing roman shades for clients!! (the grommet effect). Hope everyone has a great weekend and I have the most adorable client parties to share next week as well as another DIY from the Butterfly Party!!

{Lauren’s Butterfly Party} The Sweetest Vendors!

Today I want to personally thank each vendor that made Lauren’s party so beautiful. You all were amazing and a pleasure to work with. I look forward to doing MANY more parties with you all!!

First to the most AMAZING pastry chef!! Esmeralda of Sin City Sweets-you rock! She made the most beautiful cake and those butterflys were really spectacular. She also made the cupcakes that were lemon cake filled with raspberry filling, cake pops, and saved me with adorable cookies at the last minute. It was all perfect!! So thank you sweet lady!

Next is Aimee from Strawberrie Rose. Enough said. If you have seen her gorgeous tutus before than you know what I am talking about. She is so talented. I had never seen these with a “burn out” effect. That is a term used in the design field where the colors bleed into each other to create almost like an array of color. When I saw this outfit I actually changed my color scheme. Originally I was going to do a pale yellow and pale pink but after seeing this I knew that was not the way to go with what I was trying to do. THANK YOU Aimee!!

Renee Elysee Photography is one of those sites I can’t wait to see what she is going to do. Not only is she talented but she is also a family member and the sweetest! Between her, me and a few friends, we got ALL the pictures we needed. 1200 to be matter a fact. Yes, I think that was more than enough. Renee has just created a FB page so you ahve to check it out.

Pam at Party Starters is one of the most warm hearted people I have meet in the party blogging world and one of the sincerest. She jumped to help me even when she was jet setting off to New York to meet Martha Stewart. She made these amazing favor boxes and butterflies for the straws. Remember my post HERE on her fairy party? Talented huh? Thanks Pam!

Last but not least is Gwynn of Gwynn Wasson Designs. I have not mentioned her before but you MUST know about her. She is a talent that I have as a side kick and partner in crime. She is AMAZINGLY visual and can just SEE what something should look like. She really was able to make what I was thinking come to life. Just look at this mock up of the table she designed for me. Gwynn has so many amazing ideas and I can not wait to share more from here. Remember this POST on her Easter party?? Told you! She is a TALENT!

{Here she is with my little munchkin}

And finally here is a list of the other items in the party you may be interested to see where they came from. I have a few DIY tutorials coming your way from this party later so stay tuned!

Lauren’s Butterfly Birthday Party!!

It is over and done with and it was a dream! Lauren looked so cute and I was so pleased with how it all turned out. This was a very different party this year than last as now being a part of the “party world” refines your tastes much like interior design does. I had a true vision for this party that really seemed to come together once I just jumped in. So here are MANY pictures for you to enjoy and I will being doing more posts on this party on the dessert table, DIY tutorials, Lauren’s adorable outfit, and my amazing vendors!!  I just don’t want you to miss ANYTHING!!

Thank you for bearing with me on the many pictures! There were so many to choose from and I will show you more when I do my other posts on this party. But I hope you enjoyed your flight through Lauren’s Butterfly Party and happy birthday to my sweet butterfly!

Sneak Peak- Lauren’s Butterfly Party!

It is over and it was fun! I can not believe how time just flys. Lauren’s party turned out darling and I can not wait to share it. It is going to take a few days to go through and edit all the pictures so in the meantime here is a little teaser.

But a huge thanks to Ashley for helping me make everything last week as you know I had nothing done before that. And A LOT of other thank yous that I will mention once I give you all the party details and the contributors. I am so thankful to everyone who helped me with this party and I think our hard work paid off. So happy Monday everyone! Hope you have a great one.
