{BN Black Book of Parties} Pucker Up! Bridal Shower

Lindi from Love The Day was one of the first “party girls” I met in real life. She grew up here in Utah like myself, but now lives in Texas. She’s such a darling girl and I love seeing the fun new parties she styles – she’s so talented! She recently threw a bridal shower for her cousin’s fiancee and I just loved the theme and colors – it was a ‘Pucker Up’ theme using lemons and limes with a rustic feel – so fresh and fun! You could use this theme any time of the year for a beautiful bridal shower.

I love the use of burlap, old wood crates, and ripped fabric to create a rustic feel. Pairing the rustic elements with the bright yellow and greens created a beautiful combination!

Adding the party circles to striped straws and inserting into lemons & limes is such a fun idea!

At the center of the table was this beautiful ombre cake with a stunning gum paste flower created by One Sweet Slice. Other desserts included banana pudding from Magnolia Bakery and lemon cupcakes and lime tarts made by her talented sister Kristi of City Sweet Shop.

Thanks so much for letting is share your bright, fun bridal shower with our readers! You did a fabulous job, as always!

{DIY Tutorials} Hat Box Cupcake Tower

Hello again! Jen here from Sweeten Your Day Events! I am back to share another fun tutorial with you all. This week I am going to show you how to make these adorable and SUPER easy cupcake towers that you can customize to fit your party style.

Materials:

Hat Boxes (or any other sturdy and smooth cardboard box) – Michaels, Joann, Hobby Lobby, or most craft stores.

Decorative Paper to fit your design/style/theme

Decorative Edge Scissors

Tape

Tips: I found a jumbo roll of wrapping paper that matched our invites that we used and wrapping paper is usually pretty inexpensive.  Also various box sizes are great to add height and variety.

Step One: Line the top side of your box (it is now going to be the bottom side of your stand) on the edge of the paper and mark  how tall it is.

Continue drawing your line for the length of paper you will need to wrap around the box.

Tip: Some styles of wrapping paper now have grids on the back (mine didn’t) which makes it super easy for cutting straight lines.

Step Two: Take your decorative edge scissors and cut about a half inch to an inch above your line to give it a little bit of a lip above the edge of where your box will be.

Step Three: Wrap your box. Remember to keep the open part of your box at the base of the paper. Tape one end of the paper to the box to hold in place. Then roll/wrap.

The other end should overlap just slightly to cover the whole thing and tape together.

Step Four: Stand your box (open side down….) and you are done with one. Repeat and stack!

You can stack as many as you like to achieve the look you want. I went with a taller box for the base to give it some height, and then a slightly shorter box on top to give it some variety.

Step Five: Fill with cupcakes!

Tip: For standard size cupcakes, you will want a 4″ difference in box sizes for each tier to fit cupcakes all the way around (ex: for a 3 tier cupcake stand:  bottom tier – 14″ box, middle tier – 10″ box, top tier – 6″ box). For mini size cupcakes a 2″ difference in box sizes for each tier will work.

Now that your stand is all filled with cupcakes you can take a step back and enjoy your hard work, and eat a cupcake!

Thanks for checking out our hat box cupcake tower tutorial. Another great thing about this is you can take the paper off and re-wrap for another theme, the versatility is really endless! {Photo Shoot} Bridal Shower Shoot for Best Wedding Sites

When Pam from Party Starters was looking for vendors for a shoot she was doing for the Best Wedding Sites July Vendor Challenge, I responded right away. First it can be so much fun to design something any way you like (we just had a set color pallet) and secondly she is one of my most favorite bloggy friends. I truly adore this lady inside and out! I wanted this collection to be more streamlined where brides could have a set design and then we could interchange the colors of their selections. As this was in the purple/pink/gray pallet, I thought a bride could just pick any color combo. For instance like HERE with what we did for Kathleen. Maria from Studio Sister Photography captured the look perfectly and Pam did an amazing job styling it.

I made custom menus and name cards for each place setting. I love adding little touches to a shower like this because it makes it so personal.

Drink flags are just a darling touch! These were made in 4 patterns to coordinate.

To personalize the sweets table for the bride- I made her a banner. another cute idea would be to make her a sign for the back of her chair! I may have to add that to this collection!

Some yummy sweets like cupcakes are the perfect size for a shower rather than a cake. And of course you have to decorate the top!

And shower favors by Milk and Cookeez. I am such a fan of hers! These are such cute cupcake soaps that Pam added our tags to.

And cute little dispensers filled with candy for the guests to take home tied with a cute tag.

{Blissful Customers} A Lingerie Bridal Shower

One of our resident stylists- Michelle Skinner, styled this gorgeous bridal shower for a very good friend of hers. Set in this gorgeous hotel with this amazing view! Michelle set up a table of treats, drinks, and appetizers to tie the girls over before they headed out for the evening.

The table was draped in alternating ribbons and gorgeous peony flowers in vases which added softness to the table.

Coordinating printable decorations tied it all together. A modern print with a classic stripe in a light pink and lime green gave this table a fresh feel.

And the gorgeous bride herself!
