Modern Turtle Baby Shower

I know we are all getting revved up for the big holiday season but I thought it would be fun to share pictures from a baby shower I styled the other weekend. Sindee wanted the shower to coordinate with the babies room so we took the turtle from the bedding and went from there. It was super cute with these modern shapes on his back and we used the blue, white, and chocolate with shots of bright green and a “fall” orange. Perfect for this time of year!!

We welcomed “Baby Elzholz” with his own personalized board that Lisa can put in his baby room- with sweet bunting!

Then each guest as they arrived had to guess how many runts were in the jar (Lisa’s favorite candy) to win a prize.

Now for the dessert table!!

We wanted to personalize this table because ultimately a baby shower is in celebration of a new baby for both mommy and daddy. So with that in mind I had Jaime (Lisa’s best friend) dig up pictures of both Lisa and Jeremy of babies through the toddler years as well as a couple. Ashley and I then matted them on white card stock, and grouped them (youngest to oldest) with tags to identify who was in the picture and at what age. So fun for the family to see both sides!!

Esmeralda of Sin City Sweets designed the most amazing cake. She is such a talent!! The turtle was just darling on top of the cake!!

And she made delicious cupcakes with baby chocolate turtles cut out of top of them. We lined the platters with chocolate espresso beans. Yum!

And of course we had to have coordinating cookies!

Amanda of Pretzels Pleaze made the most adorable chocolate covered pretzels with edible baby charms at the tops.

We filled vases with chocolate covered malt balls layered with green chocolate balls topped off with pom pom flowers by Carmen of Pomflair. We also put clusters of Pomflair’s poms hanging from each of the chandeliers.

The tables were set with chocolate napkins with a sachet “onsie” tucked into them with a sweet little message to the guests as well as table cards welcoming each guest to the event.

Flowers by Leonora Moss were in the colors of the invitation had personalized signs of “Lisa’s Bundle of Joy Baby Shower” on one side and then her turtle on the other with a big chocolate ribbon cascading down.

And a “reserved” table for the family.

Hor devours were passed around before the buffet was set up. We thought it would be cute to single out which dish was Lisa’s favorite!!

And last but not least my favorite picture of Sindee and Lisa. They look SO happy!!

Blue and Brown Party Ideas

I think many of you know that blue is my favorite color and if not now you do. I was just looking at Chris’ post at Celebrations At Home and LOVED this table setting. So this generated my search for other great Blue and Brown party ideas. Do any of you have ones you want to share too??
