Still having a love for interiors and being inspired by so many blogs and websites, A Blissful Nest was created. Initially having a desire to write and journal all of her amazing finds, DIY projects and beautiful projects she came across on the web, she soon realized she had more to offer…much more. Within only a few months, she had created several of her own design collections and began consulting on client parties.
After designing her daughter’s vibrant butterfly-themed birthday party, A Blissful Nest was featured on the well known party site, Hostess With The Mostess. The shop immediately became inundated with orders which led to hiring Ashley Tarr as a design assistant. After a very busy end to 2010, BN now offers party printable packages as well as custom made items.
A Blissful Nest is currently expanding with the hiring of regional independent stylists around the country. Michelle Skinner is the first of hopefully many to join the company. BN wants to offer people the experience of having a BN representative come and style their parties locally.
Rebekah still cannot believe this wonderful experience brought her to be home with her daughter full time and still pursue her love for design interests and creativity. Rebekah has many hopes and aspirations for this company. She hopes to turn BN into a lifestyle site for interiors, parties, and everyday life…a place to share new ideas and showcase the best on the web…and to help others find that blissful lifestyle…from one bird to another.
Michelle graduated from the University of San Diego where she studied Business and Marketing and it’s where her friendship with Rebekah began. Though Michelle’s professional history has been in retailing and merchandising, where she has worked for top retailers in the fashion industry for the past ten years, her love for interiors has taken her career into another direction. She’s your everyday girl who loves design and is always ready for a new challenge.
Michelle is mom to Luke and Bennett, wife to Sean and is truly blessed to have such a supportive network of friends and clients. After a long day with the kids, or at the office, nothing makes her smile more than her family coming together in their own space that fosters laughter, togetherness and comfort. That’s all it takes to make your own unique space truly lovely!
Ashley graduated from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) with a degree in Interior Design. Shortly after graduating, Ashley was offered a position with a top design firm in Pasadena where she met Rebekah. Ashley has always had a passion for design, be it interiors, fashion or party planning, anything to channel her creative juices!
Ashley loves crafting, thrift shopping with friends, beach trips, scrapbooking and relaxing with a great book or magazine (especially Martha Stewart for inspiration!).
