{BN Black Book of Parties} Vintage Train 3rd Birthday Party

Today I wanted to share this cute Vintage Train party that the very talented JoAnne from Oh Goodie Designs and Style.Inspired created for a darling little 3 year old boy. A train party is a wonderful theme for that age…I remember my boys LOVED trains when they were about 3! Joanne used a combination of chevron and houndstooth patterns along with several other rustic elements to create the vintage look. Holding the party at a local railroad museum created the perfect setting for the big day.

I feel like the invitation so important when planning your event. It gives you the opportunity to set the tone for the entire party and gets your guests excited about coming! The invitation was designed to look like a train boarding pass and guests could bring their ticket with them for entrance to the party. Here’s the darling birthday boy, all ready to go with his ticket!

The party area was decorated with fun chalkboard signs, a matching tissue garland and extra large balloons.

The menu was kept simple for little guests by serving grilled cheese sandwiches, fruit, veggie shots and cheese cubes. Beverage choices included lemonade, root beer and sweet tea served in customized glasses with the always fabulous, matching gray and white striped straws.

At the center of the dessert table was a darling cake adorned with a fondant train spelling out the birthday boy’s name. Other yummy treats included red velvet cupcakes, custom cookies and the hit with the kids – Rice Krispie Pops. The chevron table cloth, vintage suitcase, fabric bunting and kraft #3 were just a few of the added touches that give the party that vintage feel.

Guests took home plenty of vintage style candies, train hats, wooden whistles, train conductor bandanas and train sticker books which were placed in their fabulous customized favor bags.

Thanks JoAnne, for letting us share your fun vintage train party with our readers – you always do such an amazing job for your clients!
