{DIY Tutorial} Lace/Doily Bunting

Hello, A Blissful Nest readers! It’s Linda here, from burlap+blue, and I’m so excited to be here today sharing another tutorial with you all….

This is such an easy and fun project…from start to finish, it only took about 20 minutes or so! You can choose a bright and fun color for your seam binding, or stick with basic white. The bunting can be as long or as short as you’d like-experiment and see what you like best!

Materials:
lace/doilies
seam binding (alternatively, you can take a piece of wide ribbon, fold in half, press, and use that instead)
sewing machine (or fabric glue)

Step 1: Take your doilies, and cut them in half. If you are using lace, just cut sections to your desired length (the last section of the above garland is a piece of lace I cut to about 4″). Don’t have a ready stash of lace and doilies? No problem! You can search Etsy or ebay-there are plenty to be had!

Step 2: Take your seam binding…

…and insert your pieces where desired. You can pin if you’d like, but I didn’t find it necessary. Make sure you leave a length of seam binding at the beginning and end of your bunting so that you can create a loop for hanging (see below image). Stitch down the center (or glue, if using fabric glue), and you’re done!

Easy Peasy! Just the way I like my crafting:)

I have mine hanging over a chalkboard frame, but this would look great hanging across a mirror, or even an open frame!
